More than $30,000 was raised for community program, TRACTION, at its annual "Canapés In the Shed" fundraiser on 20th October 2016. Upwards of 150 guests attended the event, which was held at Shed 27 in Capalaba and emceed by television personality, Sofie Formica.
Money raised will be fed back into the program, which supported 135 students from seven schools across Brisbane to October 2016. TRACTION founder Sandy Murdoch said the outstanding fundraising effort would allow the organisation to expand its reach with the opening of new workshops. “Our goal is to provide 288 places through the TRACTION program next year at our 3 workshops located in Capalaba, Moorooka and West End. We’ll also be kicking off some exciting affiliate partnerships that will see the TRACTION program introduced to new communities and even more young people in need participating.” Heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and helped celebrate, to those that donated to TRACTION and our event partners for helping making the night such as success.
