Our Workshops

About our Workshops

The TRACTION team is directly involved in the delivery of TRACTION programs across Southeast Queensland.

TRACTION has a physical presence at a number of locations (workshops) including: the Redlands, Brisbane's Southside and the Scenic Rim. TRACTION also delivers programs in Logan at Kingston, in partnership with the YMCA Vocational School, and in Yarrabilba, in partnership with Queensland Health's Family and Community Place service.

TRACTION delivers programs in Durack on Brisbane's Southside at the Trade Skills Centre onsite at Glenala State High School. TRACTION also provides mobile or 'pop up' outreach services across Southeast Queensland.

TRACTION is exploring options to deliver programs in new communities on Brisbane's Northside, Ipswich, Toowoomba and the Gold Coast. It is our intention to create a wider TRACTION presence beyond Southeast Queensland by supporting a community of Accredited TRACTION partners.

Redlands

Since its inception, TRACTION has built a strong representative presence in the Redlands. After beginning operations in 2015 at 'Shed 27' in Capalaba, TRACTION secured a larger, dedicated facility within the Alexandra Hills TAFE Campus in 2017.

Mobile

TRACTION delivers mobile 'Bicycle Build' programs for communities in need. These workshops are typically delivered in conjunction with local schools, Councils, land/community development businesses, and community organisations. TRACTION Mentors facilitate each workshop and provide technical assistance and positive role-modelling. The workshops are perfect for those interested in learning more about bicycle mechanics and maintenance. Participants will disassemble, re-assemble and quality-check a bicycle, and subject to available funding, may even get to keep the bicycle at the end of the day.
